These machines have all been acquired since 1995 as part of our corporate re-capitalization plan. We have spent close to $2,000,000 on the equipment and tooling, and yet a very aggressive machine tool acquisition strategy is still in place. Many of our CNC machines are made by Hardinge, Inc., the sole U.S. based manufacturer of "swiss style" precision shafting machines. As an added bonus, Hardinge is located less than two hours drive south of our facility.

Our CNC vertical machining center allows us the capability for both primary and secondary operations. The machine is actually located directly next to our tool room, where the machine can be used for prototypes or full production.

This equipment includes both older and newer machine tools which have major functions controlled by mechanical cams. In large part they are able to utilize form cutting tools, which allow extremely precise contoured features to be formed from bar stock. This style of equipment typically requires a custom tooling charge, and also requires a highly skilled labor force to run. In many cases, these machines cannot be beat for cost-competitiveness.

These machines allow a formidable array of secondary operations to be performed on any of our parts which cannot be dropped off the primary machine "complete". We have modified many of these machines with various parts feeding mechanisms, from hopper bowl vibratory feeders to gravity-fed chute feeders.

We have perhaps the finest, most creative and versatile tool room/prototyping operations in the area. This cell is manned by a highly skilled workforce and produces tooling for internal use as well as prototypes for our customers.

Rol-Tru Bearings has developed extensive automated and semi-automated assembly machinery to facilitate the complex assembly of ball bearings. We have years of expertise in precision assembly techniques, and utilize this expertise throughout both companies. At this point in time this machinery is considered proprietary in nature and is not normally covered in our "shop tours".
